I EAT ONE FROSTED FLAKE AND IT BURNS IN ME EIGHT DAYS by: Melissa Broder

I EAT ONE FROSTED FLAKE AND IT BURNS IN ME EIGHT DAYS

Never think about your mother’s nipples on a train

Or you will have to lick them

And say thank you for my bravery and weakness

I want to make a beautiful breakfast

I am an ugly thought

But have god’s rapt attention

A giant on the train asks Christian? Christian? Christian?

Nodding my head no

I say I need a bigger god

The giant’s mother fed him Froot Loops and Cookie Crisp

Rainbow milk and gold

Building strong, temporary bones

Fill me fill me up

Like nectar fills a flower cup

Flowers make their own nectar

I know nothing about nature
